Color Hue dye on silk |
Last Weekend was
The Gathering, a biennial reunion at
Sievers School of Fiber Arts on Washington Island. I was busy doing a demo on
digital fabric and couldn't do the make-and-take with Kathy Sorensen of Island Fibers. So I sent my husband, Bill, to learn about Color Hue dyes. That's his work above -- simple shibori on a silk scarf.

Kathy did a great job of making it possible for people to experience, in a very short time frame, the fun of surface design. My thanks to Kathy and to Carolyn Foss of Sievers for permission to share these photos.
